Dimitrios Zekkos to deliver "Powerful Informative Talk" (PIT) on Geotechnical Autonomy at Sydney 20th ICSMGE
May 02, 2022
Professor Dimitrios Zekkos has been invited to give a "Powerful Informative Talk", known in geotechnical engineering as "PIT", at the upcoming 20th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering that is being held this week at Sydney, Australia May 1st to May 5th 2022. Zekkos' talk is on "Autonomy Revolutionizing Geotechnical Practice" and describes how new technologies, and sensors, on satellites, UAVs and wireless sensors, paired with Artificial Intelligence data analysis on multi-sensor data is expected to change dramatically the geotechnical engineering field.
The International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering is the premier conference in geotechnical engineering and is held every four years. It is organized under the Auspices of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). The 20th ICSMGE was postponed by a year due to COVID restrictions.
