Oct 12, 2021
Prof. Kenichi Soga and Prof. Dimitrios Zekkos are the main speakers in the upcoming event organized by the Committee on Geological and Geotechnical Engineering (COGGE) of the National Academies on Multi-Scale Monitoring for Improved Infrastructure Safety, Resilience, Service Life.
The event will explore ways in which new monitoring and data management technologies are making it possible to expand how we think about monitoring, and how monitoring might be incorporated more fully into technical and infrastructure decision making.
Committee members and guests will discuss advances in monitoring at different scales, consider how monitoring might enhance decision making from the infrastructure-specific to the portfolio level, and consider technical needs to enhance future infrastructure monitoring. The purpose of this discussion is to identify ways in which the Committee on Geological and Geotechnical Engineering (COGGE) may contribute to this topic.
The event is the Fall 2021 meeting of the Committee on Geological and Geotechnical Engineering and will be held virtually on Thursday October 14, 2021 at 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM PDT. Registration is free and can be found here
